THE
MASTER SKILL OF SUCCESS
Your ability to set
goals and make plan for their accomplishment is the “master skill” of success.
The 10/90 rule says
that, “The first 10 percent of time you spend planning and organizing will
often account for 90 percent of the value of the entire process”.
Here is a powerful but
simple method for setting and achieving goals:
1.
Decide exactly what you want. Clarity is the
starting point of great success.
2.
Write it down, in detail, and set deadline. Set sub-deadline
if necessary.
3.
Determine the additional knowledge, skill, and
abilities you will need to achieve your goal – and how you will acquire them.
4.
Determine the obstacle and the difficulties you
will have to overcome and organize them in order of size and importance.
5.
Determine the people, group, and organization
whose assistance you will require, and decide what you will have to do to earn
their help.
6.
Make a detailed plan, broken down by activity
and organize based on priority and importance. What do you do first? What is
more important? What is less important?
7.
Take action on your plan immediately. Do something
every day to move toward your goal. Develop momentum and keep it up.
8.
