Nas is a stage name of a famous talented American rapper Nasir Jones who was born in New-York in 1973. Nas left school after the 9th form. His friend Willy Gram showed him several hip-hop recordings making him acquainted with rap music. In the late 80-s Nasir joined “Devvastin Seven”, street hip-hop project. In 1992 the best Nasir’s friend Willy and his young brother were killed. Nas gave up music career and suffered from a tremendous depression. MC Search, rapper and producer helped him to save the talent. Nas and MC Search released the song “Back to the Grill” and then one more – “Halftime”. In 1993 Nas signed a contract with Searchlite Music. In 1999 Nas released two albums. The first one, “Stillmatic”, described the new trands of the old traditional style Illmatic. The second called “God’s Son” included the songs lyrics of which described the conflict with Jay-Z and memories of his dead mother. Now Nas joined Def Jam – the label of Jay-Z. The conflict between two rappers is reconciled and they cooperate well. This American talent is considered as a hip-hop legend.
